Melvin Jones was the founder of Lions Clubs International in 1917 banding together a number of self interest business men’s groups to get them to “put their talents to work improving their communities”. nearly 100 years later the association has grown to encompass 210 countries with over 1.4 million men and women as members in over 46,000 clubs.
